What is this event?
Karakterre 18 is a public wine festival of the most of the leading organic, biodynamic and natural winegrowers of Germany and Central-Eastern Europe today. This is an opportunity to meet, talk and taste with farmers that work their land in a sustainable way, preserving it for the future generations- and making some delicious wines along the way. Food and music at the event are the background to this message.
The event takes place on 13 and 14 May 2026 at the beautiful Orangery Palace Park in Eisenstadt, Austria, one hour outside the capital, Vienna.
What’s your opening hours?
On both 13 and 14 May 2026 our event will be running from 11:30 (10:30 for trade) to 17:00. Following the main event, there will be quite a few side events organized by the community that are great oppportunities for networking and fun. Stay tuned for further details!
Which winemakers can I expect to see at Karakterre 18: Austria?
We have gathered the most of best of the new wave of winegrowers in Austria! They will be joined by their colleagues and friends from Central and Eastern Europe. Please note that each winemaker will exhibit for one day only. The daily lists will be published shortly.

Will there be food at the event?
We place significant emphasis on providing a 100% experience to our visitors. Karakterre is partnering with the region’s leading establishments to offer “fuel” during the event. Additionally, we highly recommend visiting them at their home locations in Vienna and Zagreb when you get a moment.
